"Start children off on the way they should go and even when they are old, they will not turn from it" Proverbs 22:6

School Values, Church Links and SIAMS

St. John's Infant and Nursery School is a Church of England Infant School.  We are part of the St Albans Diocese and value our links and support from the Diocese.

We are lucky enough to have two Churches: Christ Church and St John's Church

Every five years we are inspected by the National Society for Anglican Schools.  Please see our most recent SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) report below.

Prayer and collective worship are very special to us.  Collective worship happens daily.  The children have collective worship based on our values, singing worship, class worship and celebration worship.  Children can write a prayer whenever they want (quite often they write them at break times in our Spiritual Garden) and they then post them in our prayer box.  The children are asked to share their prayers as part of our collective worship.

We have a school prayer that is said daily:

God in heaven hear my prayer,

Keep me your loving care,

Be my guide in all I do,

Bless all those who love me too.

Amen

We have 12 school values which we teach implicitly over a two year period.  Each half term we focus on one value through our worship, PSHE and class work.  Our aim is to develop children's social and moral skills, preparing them to become good citizens in our local community.
