"Start children off on the way they should go and even when they are old, they will not turn from it" Proverbs 22:6

The Great Fire of London

In Year 1 we have been learning all about The Great Fire of London this half term.

We built our own houses inspired by those in 1666 and then had our own fire! We learnt how the wind had the power to fan the fire and make it much much worse.

We also linked this to our science learning about materials. We researched the best material for buckets as the leather buckets from 1666 weren't very effective.

We finished our unit with our play when we found out all about Samuel Pepys, Thomas Farriner and Christopher Wren!
