World Art Day

Nursery - Howard Hodgkin, an abstract artist. Children painted different shapes and colours, then cut them up and stuck them back together creating an abstract piece of art.

 

 

Reception -Sir Frank Bowling, an abstract artist. He enjoys creating messy and textured artwork using a variety of medias to create a final piece of art. Children drew different shapes, lines patterns etc. Then used glue and salt to trace patterns and observe what happens.

 

  Year 1- Anish Kapoor- Sculpture. Children will use prior knowledge of the five senses to create a sensory box inspired by Anish Kapoor's Ishi's Light.

 

Year 2- Sonia Bryce- Her artwork is often based on relationships with friends and family. She created the Ticket Machine, which when you pressed the ‘ticket’ button a postcard popped out, explaining an important memory. Children recalled a memory, moment or significant event and created their own memory postcard
