"Start children off on the way they should go and even when they are old, they will not turn from it" Proverbs 22:6

Aspirations Week

During Aspirations Week, the children had a wonderful opportunity to learn about a wide range of careers and future possibilities. We were overwhelmed by the incredible response from our parent community, and we are extremely grateful to the many volunteers who gave up their time to visit school and talk to the children about their jobs and career journeys. In Nursery and Reception, the children enjoyed visits from the Little Village, where they immersed themselves in role-play experiences, exploring different occupations using a variety of engaging props. Reception children also took food orders from staff members, prepared a range of sandwiches and delivered them independently. In Year 1, the children planned and set up their own café, welcoming parents into school on Friday. They took orders, prepared food and served their customers with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, Year 2 became young entrepreneurs, conducting market research to identify popular food choices, calculating costs for ingredients and supplies, and creating advertisements to promote their products. They then made flapjacks and fruit skewers, which were successfully sold to children across the school on Thursday. Aspirations Week was a fantastic celebration of ambition, creativity and enterprise, helping our children to develop valuable skills while exploring the many opportunities that may be available to them in the future.
