Science Week

What an amazing Science Week it has been! Our school has been full of curiosity and budding scientists. Thank you to all the wonderful children and adults who brought a project in for our annual Science Breakfast on Thursday. We are so proud of all the hard work that went in to creating them all. Throughout the week, the children have been taking part in a variety of activities based around a question.

Nursery were exploring: What happens when crayons get warm?

Reception were examining: Which pegs are the best at keeping washing on the line?

Year 1 were investigating: Does toast always land butter side down?

Year 2 were using team work to find out: Which materials are best at protecting a delicate object (an egg)?

The whole school enjoyed a special assembly from Jacob's (Sycamore) Dad all about fibre optics. We learnt that sound travels in vibrations, light travels in straight lines but can be reflected and bent and that sound travels really fast. We even got to see Jacob's dad climb up a telephone pole! We always welcome parents into school to help bring learning to life and enrich our pupils’ experiences.
